Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a journey, it is a powerful experience that can change your life and help you improve your mental health, overcome social or emotional challenges in order to reach fulfillment. It offers an opportunity for a new model of relationship, in which you operate differently than in the past ones, as you are fully accepted. You may be reluctant to try it because of misunderstood perceptions about psychotherapy. Even if you can tell the truth from the myth, you may feel reluctant to try it for yourself. Overcoming this hesitation is worth it. This is because whenever your quality of life is not what you want it to be, psychotherapy can help.
They say that there are three opportunities in life to build one’s personality; the first is in the first years of life, the second around adolescence and the third through psychotherapy.
In the beginning, in the therapeutic process, it is like becoming your own explorer; you observe and you recognize when you repeat the same patterns. You start and remember what it is like to discover the world, like when you were a child. Only now you are exploring your own world, your own life, as you created it as you were growing up. You discover how you feel, what you think, what you do. During psychotherapy you learn to express and process your feelings in a secure and supportive relationship, gain a deeper insight into the issues you are facing, and talk about things you may not be able to discuss with anyone else. Through this process you begin to find better ways to deal with your feelings and fears. You change the way you think and behave in order to improve your mental and emotional well-being but also to improve the relationships in your life, including and above all with yourself.
